PRIVATE TEACHING SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE
At EPIC, we’ve been privately teaching students for years. Whether you’re interested in private teaching because of unusually demanding extracurriculars, social distancing concerns, or other special needs, our systems will deliver a great education safely and on your schedule.
ACADEMIC TUTORING
Most of what we do is academic tutoring for particular subjects. We typically meet with students once or twice a week for about an hour, and we're happy to come to your house or meet at a local coffeeshop. During that time, we might help with homework, review for a test, or re-teach a difficult concept. In the back of our minds, we're keeping an eye out for weaker fundamental concepts and study skills we can help build.

STANDARDIZED TEST PREP
SAT, ACT, PSAT, PLAN, Aspire, SAT II Subject Tests, GRE, GMAT… the list goes on. Deciding which tests to take and when can be overwhelming. Understandably, many students have a lot of anxiety about facing these giant tests. Here's the good news. We help with standardized test prep every day. We're up to date on the latest changes to these ever-evolving tests, and we have experience with all types of test takers. Our approach is to do an initial assessment to identify areas we can work on, then work together to create a personalized strategy to achieve your goal.
GROUP PREP
Standardized tests are only offered a few times a year, so other students at your school are likely planning to take it at the same time. Why not get a group together to learn about the test, work through tough examples, and learn test-taking strategies? It can be an effective way to keep each other accountable and make the work a little more enjoyable.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Since the beginning of EPIC Tutoring, we've been committed to helping every student gain confidence in not only their academic performance, but also developing life skills. Whether your student struggles in social situations, is hospital-bound, or just learns at a different pace, EPIC tutors are determined to teach them the academic or life skills they need to succeed. CRAM SESSIONS
These sessions are extremely effective and popular. Booking a session for an AP exam review with several classmates has proven to be a fun way to reinforce what has been covered in the classroom with an eye to likely exam focus areas. The students feed off of each other’s energy and and our tutors’ unique presentation of the subject matter. Plus, Bryan's storytelling approach to the highlights of classes such as U.S. History in 2 hours is truly a sight to behold.
